In 2005, Prince Paul Walugembe – EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, UISAT established UISAT Conservation Club: the first and only UISAT Club at the SECONDAY SCHOOLS of Uganda, Region.
His intention was to improve the health awareness of ordinary Ugandan students. Due to the huge popularity and the desire of Legion’s students to share their knowledge, the Club was extended into a volunteering society for health education: UISAT Volunteers (officially "UISAT Life Savers Association"). With the help of NETHERLANDS partner UISAT Volunteers has extended to become an officially recognized international volunteering organisation aimed at improving the health, education(through teaching placements in schools, donation of educational materials etc), research, construction, intercultural programs, environmental issues, farming and well-being of people living in deprived communities of Uganda. The projects use the knowledge, enthusiasm and good will of Ugandan and foreign volunteers.
Another key aim of the projects is to increase understanding, promote Cultural exchange and build friendships between Africans, specifically Ugandans and Europeans, Americans, and Asians. The voluntary projects have a serious purpose as well as a fun element to them. Join UISAT volunteers and make a real difference to people's lives in Uganda, while having an incredible experience and making life-long memories and friends.
Voluntary Projects
Volunteering with a difference. UISAT Volunteers is an organization which seeks to improve the health , education, environmental issues, and well-being of deprived African communities with the help of international and Ugandan volunteers working together. All volunteers need is passion for helping others, a desire to make friends with people from a different culture and an eagerness to experience Africa.
